Why me?

SMALL BUSINESS AND START UP SPECIALIST

I understand the challenges of setting up and running a business, trying to find that balance between work, play, family, friends, health, finding enough “you time” and pushing your business forward.

I have over a decade of personal experience juggling these challenges, wearing the many hats that come with running a small business and attempting to do everything myself.

“What got you here, won’t get you there” Marshall Goldsmith

If you’re looking for a different way and ready for change, if you’re ready to take yourself, your life AND your business to the next level, I can help.

Style

POSITIVE PHILOSOPHYABSOLUTE BELIEF IN YOU

I believe life is a gift and should be lived fully, noticing and enjoying moments of the journey whilst having FUN!

Man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked. Victor Frankl

I’m not religious in the traditional sense but have a feeling something’s going on and have faith in the laws of the universe: the more you give, the more you’ll gain.

I’ve studied Stoic philosophy for a number of years and feel that solid grounding of acceptance in all things that happen coupled with the future focused goal-oriented nature of coaching makes for a powerful mindset.

My story

My first jobs were delivering milk and serving beer (not at the same time!) and I’ve found joy ever since in connecting with people and serving.

I’ve worked at senior management level in big shiny offices for large companies, for a two-man band in a converted bedroom and started a business from my studio flat.

I’ve had challenges along the way including family health issues, making the leap from employee to company director, running an events business whilst no actual events are happening (thank you COVID!) and had some interesting business partner legal battles.

I reached a major turning point around 2010, I was in a toxic business relationship and seriously stressed (I’m sure this brought on my sciatica!) and was looking for a way out, a fresh start, something better and I realised………

………it was all down to me.

If I wanted something better, I’d need to be better!

So I started a journey of learning and self-development. I read books: philosophy and self-help, studied business strategy and pyschology (I hadn’t read or studied properly since secondary school!), I started a journal and started taking responsibility for my life.

I was now planning a more exciting future, making goals, self-reflecting and trying to better myself as a human being.

This path led me to starting my own business (from scratch with just a telephone and business directory), moving to London, discovering my wondrous fiancee Naomi, realising micro-managing and doing everything myself is NOT the most effective way, and discovered a more vibrant, fulfilling and inspiring world in general.

I didn’t know it at the time, however:

I’d coached myself to a better life.

It dawned on me in 2020 (thank you again COVID!) that coaching other small business owners and start ups would be the best way to help and connect with people who wanted to make similar positive changes in their lives.
